What a busy half term

We have had a very busy and exciting first half term of 2020. The children came back after Christmas very enthusiastic to learn.

As part of Health week we had an engaging visit from the Life Bus where the children met Harold the giraffe, who helped them to learn ways of keeping themselves fit and healthy.  There was also a visit from St. John’s Ambulance Service, who taught the Year 1 children what to do in an emergency and the Year 2 children how to put someone in the recovery position.

Continuing our promotion of keeping healthy, Lisa from Beavers visited both Owls and Ladybirds and inspired the children to think about joining Beavers, where they do many different outdoor activities. Lisa will be coming back into school next Tuesday afternoon at 2:55pm, where she will be in our library and will be very happy to talk to any parents of interested children about joining Beavers.

We were very lucky to receive a visit from the author and screen writer, Lauren Davies. She has just written a book ‘Little Turtle Turns the Tide’, which is a lovely book informing children of the looking after our planet. Her book is being launched in Waterstones, Southampton, next Thursday evening between 6:00pm -7:00pm. Lauren will be happy to sign any bought copies there.

The children have also been enjoying regular visits to our school library, choosing a book to take home to read.
