21.75 hours Permanent Learning Support Assistant (+ 4.5hrs temporary)

  • Salary Details: LSA: Scale B/C – depending on experience.

Permanent LSA: 17.25 hours per week, term time   8.45am – 11.45am Monday to Friday and 1 x afternoon 1pm – 3.15pm with Permanent SALT support: 2 x afternoons 1pm – 3.15pm

Temporary 4.5 hr SENSA support in Juniors 2x afternoons 1pm – 3.15pm

Job/Person Summary

We are looking for a positive, caring and enthusiastic person to join our established learning support team and work alongside our team of dedicated teachers, predominantly in the Infants.

You will be supporting children in class or individuals/groups of children to provide intervention as directed. You will be required to provide accurate records and daily feedback to the teachers. Previous proven experience of working with primary aged children would be desirable. Further professional development opportunities will be available.

A knowledge of Speech and Language programmes for children is desirable, however training will be given for this element of the role.

You will need good written and oral communication skills and the ability to use your initiative to work self-directed or as part of a team to enable pupils to succeed.

Knowledge of supporting the teaching of phonics would be an advantage.

Applicants should also have:

C grade at GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics

The ability to provide evidence of the impact they have had on pupils they have worked with

The ability to work under pressure with good time management skills

A flexible, calm and professional approach

An understanding of the expectations of the Key Stage 1&2 curriculum to enable children to make progress

An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.

25 hours Special Needs Assistant needed to start 1.9.18

We are looking to appoint a Special Needs Assistant to join our positive, caring, friendly and supportive team of teachers and support staff working Monday – Friday 8.45 till 11.45 am and 1pm till 3pm.

The successful candidate will support a Year R child who has an EHC plan.

This contract will be on a temporary basis, reviewed regularly as long as the child remains at the school.

Experience working with children with additional needs would be an advantage.

Salary will be negotiated subject to relevant experience B or C grade

You will be supporting the child in class or groups of children to provide intervention as directed. You will be required to provide accurate records and daily feedback to the teachers.

An understanding of the Early Years curriculum and Key Stage One would be desirable. Previous proven experience of working with primary aged children would also be desirable. Further professional development opportunities will be available.

After School Club Assistant

Closing Date: 26/6/18 12pm

Interview Date:  4/7/18 in the afternoon

Job Start Date: Monday 3rd September for 1 school year, possibly longer

Contract/Hours: Fixed term, Part-time

Hours per week:  5.25 hours (3.15pm to 5pm Mon – Weds)

Paid weeks per year:  44.48

Salary Type:      Support Staff, Grade C, Step 1- 5, FTE £17,224 – £18,794

Role Profile:  Out of School Assistant

Actual salary on Grade C Step 1:  £2,090

Duties include:
*Welcoming children and helping them to settle in to the session
*Supporting the children in a wide variety of active games and quieter small group activities including board games, construction, arts and crafts and indoor and outdoor sporting activities
*Clearing away all the play equipment

*Following procedures to dismiss children to their carer at the end of the session

The assistant would work under the guidance of our highly experienced After School Club Leader. 

We are looking for someone who has:

confidence in their interactions with children,

excellent team working skills

a calm and positive approach in their communications

initiative and can word independently

a warm personality
enthusiasm and is conscientious
good time management and organisational skills
patience and flexibility
an understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and health & safety procedures

Applicants who have experience of working with children aged 4-11 would be desirable but not essential.
